HOUSTON – Accomplished Houston lawyer John H. Kim, founder of The Kim Law Firm, has earned selection to the “Who’s Who in Energy” list of energy industry leaders in seven major U.S. cities.
The exclusive listing was compiled by the editors of the Houston Business Journal and six other business journals in Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis and San Antonio.
The full list was published Nov. 23, 2012 and is available here.
Editors from all seven publications selected key people in each city’s energy industry, encompassing legal, financial and engineering professionals. Selections were made based on open nominations, industry outreach and additional research by each publication.
Mr. Kim is quoted in the publication saying the greatest current challenge facing the energy industry is protecting innovation.
“This is both a political and legal fight. If the energy sector and participants are to succeed into the future, then we have to reward innovation and protect ownership,” Mr. Kim is quoted as saying.
As for the next big development in energy, Mr. Kim tells readers to keep a close eye on “soft energy – a source that originates with hard hydrocarbons and is processed into a cleaner more efficient fuel.”
A veteran of numerous courtroom trials, Mr. Kim is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and serves as the current president of the group’s Houston chapter. He has earned selection to the Texas Super Lawyers list all 10 years since the list was first published in 2003. Although he concentrates on complex litigation for companies and individuals, he began his legal career as a personal injury lawyer. Mr. Kim is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and he maintains an AV®-rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer-review ranking available.
The Kim Law Firm has recovered more than half a billion dollars for clients through aggressive litigation. The firm represents entrepreneurs, business start-ups, mid-sized companies, and established national and international corporations in everything from contract and complex business disputes to insider trading allegations, trade secrets and other intellectual property disputes. Mr. Kim and his firm represent plaintiffs and defendants nationwide in oil & gas litigation, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, securities litigation, claims of tortious interference, price fixing and other antitrust actions.
