HOUSTON – Noted Houston trial lawyer John H. Kim, founder of The Kim Law Firm, has been nominated to serve as a Trustee of the Foundation of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
The 12-member board directs the activities of the Foundation, which supports ABOTA, a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges that promotes every American’s right to a civil jury trial.
The letter informing Mr. Kim of his nomination by Foundation Trustees says his selection as a candidate is “testament to your dedication and commitment to the ABOTA Foundation’s mission to preserve and promote our 7th Amendment right to civil jury trial justice for future generations.”
The Trustee position is a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2015. Two other candidates also have been nominated, and the one receiving the most votes will fill an upcoming vacancy.
Mr. Kim has been recognized by numerous professional groups for his mastery of the courtroom and comprehensive trial preparation for general commercial litigation, product liability and personal injury claims. The Kim Law Firm represents both corporate clients, such as oil and gas companies, as well as victims in high-stakes personal injury claims.
Immediate past president of the Houston chapter of ABOTA, Mr. Kim is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He maintains an AV-preeminent rating in the national LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell legal directory. Mr. Kim has earned a spot on the annual Texas Super Lawyers list every year since it was launched in 2003, including being listed among the Top 100 lawyers in Houston for three years straight.
