HOUSTON – Noted civil trial attorney John Kim of The Kim Law Firm is pleased to announce the addition of commercial litigator Heather R. Potts, who will start the bankruptcy practice at the Houston litigation boutique.
Ms. Potts provides extensive experience representing debtors, creditors and trustees. She has litigated exemption disputes, objections to discharge, avoidance of preferential and fraudulent transfers, and has secured approval of complex estate property sales. Beyond the bankruptcy arena, Ms. Potts also has represented clients in complex business disputes in both state and federal courts. Her appellate experience includes a successful oral argument before the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Potts’ academic writing has been published, and she has served as a presenter at several business and bankruptcy conferences, including the annual convention of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Though she grew up in Montana, Ms. Potts earned her undergraduate degree at Baylor University and her law degree from Baylor Law School. She worked for four years as a high school English teacher in El Paso before beginning law school, providing her an added level of real-world experience in a dynamic Texas border city.
