Acclaimed Trial Lawyer John Kim Delivers Advice on Trial Practice at Harvard Law School

HOUSTON – Trial lawyer John Kim, founder of Houston’s The Kim Law Firm, recently joined some of the country’s top trial attorneys at Harvard Law School to share their collective knowledge about best trial practices with the next generation of courtroom lawyers.

Mr. Kim served on the faculty of the National Trial College of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a rigorous five-day learning experience for young lawyers that included mock trial presentations and related critiques.

“This was soup-to-nuts trial technique,” says Mr. Kim, the former president of the Houston ABOTA chapter. “This event provided third-year and fourth-year lawyers with a valuable and unique perspective delivered by top lawyers and jurists from around the country.”

ABOTA is a national association of judges and trial lawyers committed to preserving and promoting Americans’ right to a civil jury trial as provided in the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Kim was among 18 faculty members nationally at the Harvard Law event, which included several former national ABOTA presidents.

An accomplished trial lawyer, Mr. Kim handles high-stakes litigation for international corporations and the most important cases in the lives of individuals who have been injured by others. He has been named to the annual Texas Super Lawyers list of the state’s top attorneys since the list was first published in 2003. He also has been repeatedly listed among the Top 100 lawyers in Houston based on his work for clients in business litigation cases.

Mr. Kim’s additional professional honors include his being named a Litigation Star by the publishers of the respected Benchmark Litigation legal guide based on his accomplishments in general commercial litigation cases, personal injury lawsuits and product liability claims. He also maintains the highest AV Preeminent peer review rating in the national LexisNexis/Martindale-Hubbell legal directory. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

The Kim Law Firm has recovered more than a half billion dollars for clients through aggressive litigation and also has successfully defended clients against takings of at least a half billion dollars. The firm represents entrepreneurs, business start-ups, mid-sized companies, and established national and international corporations in everything from contract and complex business disputes to insider trading allegations, trade secrets and other intellectual property disputes.
